First, when you’re broadcasting in a public place, you should be respectful of the people around you. Being live on CAM4 is probably not what people expect to happen while on a walk through the park.  Always protect yourself from angry people who might sue you – never broadcast others unless you have uploaded their ID to your account.

Being outside while you broadcast (on your own property or property you have received permission to be on from the owner) opens up a ton of fun new things to try! Just be sure you don’t get in trouble by violating other people’s trademarks or copyrights.  You can’t even use music in the background of a broadcast without having permission. If you do, you can be sued for copyright infringement.

Feel free to broadcast from a car, motorcycle, airplane, or flying saucer… just make sure the engine is OFF! We want you, and everyone around you to be safe and injury free – let your common sense prevail.  You can’t operate machinery and broadcast at the same time, it’s too dangerous.

Finally, this is very important to remember while using CAM4 (on mobile or any other way):

NEVER allow children to appear on your broadcast in any way.
If a minor or child or someone who appears to be too young (under 18) appears on your broadcast, your account will be instantly terminated. CAM4 will never let children be exploited in any way, shape, or form.  

So go have fun broadcasting outside, in public, at the beach, at your favorite bar – just make sure you always know the rules that apply to wherever you happen to be (and don’t upset that bar owner or it’s patrons). Remember, it’s your responsibility to stay out of jail, so just use some common sense and you will be fine. 

To help eliminate claims of invasion of privacy, CAM4 recommends you don’t broadcast from a height of more than 5’5″ (1.67 meters) off the ground.

Your Chat Settings allow you to completely customize your CAM4 chatroom experience. You decide who will be able to chat during your shows and when, you can turn your chat filters on, or off as you please. Feel like some extra privacy? Start a password protected room where you control who can enter. 

In the top right had corner of your broadcast window you will see a little Gear icon  where you can access your chat settings.

Pro Tip’s for performers on how to use your Chat Settings:

1.  Use your chat filters to clean up an overload of unwanted messages while you are actually doing a show. This will allow your friends, followers, and tippers to chat to you instead of a million ‘feeetttt bb. plzzzzzzzz’ messages. 

2. Another clever idea is to announce that you’re turning on your ‘Allow users with tokens’ filter to your room mid-way through the show. Simply say “Hey guys! I’m turning off my free chat now! You can still watch for free but if you want to chat you must have tokens in your account! You don’t have to tip me but you have to have tokens to talk bb’s!” Saying it this way takes pressure off token holders to tip…but the enjoyable feeling of this VIP environment will more than likely make them want to thank you with a tip. ?

When you click on  ‘Moderation’, this drop-down menu will appear: 

Manage your Bans – Click here if you would like to un-ban someone from your room, or see who is currently banned from your room. 

Manage your Silences – Click here if you would like to lift a silence from a member in your current broadcast.

Manage your Moderators- Remove moderator privileges from a viewer even if they are not currently in your room. 

Manage your password protected shows – To begin a password protected show, click ‘Go Private’.

To end a password protected show, simply press ‘Go Public’ to return to an open room.

The more you focus on making your shows fun and creative, the more viewers you are going to attract.

Remember these simple rules when you start your CAM4 show.

#1. Be Patient

Role-playing a new theme during your broadcasts? You should plan to do it for a week or more before you decide if it is worth continuing or not.

 #2. Perform for 10 viewers as you would 1000.

 You never know who is watching you. There might be the most loyal, awesome viewers in your room but if you are visibly upset about your numbers it can be insulting.

 #3. Don’t demand your viewers talk to you.

They are not all masters of conversation and talking to a hottie like yourself may be intimidating.

 #4. Use Color in your room.

This is not only eye catching from the CAM4 homepage and will attract people to your room, it will make your viewers more comfortable when they are there.

 #5. Have fun props.

You need to have these in your background to decorate your room and peek the interest of your viewers. It is a conversation starter, and the best way for YOU to not get bored on cam.

 #6. Be an Internet personality.

CAM4 is all about real people, real cams, in real time. This means that your viewers want to see more than just a body with a toy – they could get that anywhere. Be YOURSELF and share your personality, that is the cornerstone to success.

In this article, you’ll learn how to set your Tip Goal!

Setting a tipping goal is a great way to encourage viewers to tip you. With a tip goal, you make it clear to your viewers that you will reward them if they tip you sufficiently. 

We’ll also give you a guideline on what to charge and some nice tips on how to actually reach your tip goal.

Types of Tip Goals

There are few different ways that successful cam models set goals on CAM4.

1. One Big Goal

You can set your main goal all at once, right from the start of the show. This can be a bit intimidating for viewers, especially if your show just started and the goal is still far away.

If you set your goal this way, I recommend playing a game in your room to encourage fans to tip. This way you will get closer to the goal step by step.

2. Smaller Goals

You can break up your goal into smaller increments. For example, if you have a personal goal of 1000 for the day, break it up into 10 smaller goals of 100. This keeps you going the whole time and it will keep your fans interested. This is much less intimidating for fans!

3. Tipping Menu

Activate your Tipping Menu to create more ways for your viewers to interact with you.

Once you click on ‘Tip Menu’ in the menu below your video display, you will see a pop-up.

Here you can enter the actions you will perform once a tip goal is reached:

You can submit up to 12 custom actions for your audience to choose from setting your price high or low, depending on the act you will be performing.

Whichever way you choose, remember not to fiddle with your tip goal once it’s set! Changing your tip goal won’t earn more tips, only you and your show can do that.

Tips & Encouragement

Here are some tips by successful performers to make it attractive for viewers to tip you!

How to get your room going:

• Move your webcam angle! This automatically makes viewers ’tune in’ and gives a feeling of ‘whats happening next?’. Do this regularly to keep audience attention peeked.  
• Make an unexpected change! This could be anything from brushing your teeth, to changing your outfit, to doing the dishes. More random the better 🙂
• Entertain yourself! The more fun you’re having, the more fun you are to watch. Online hours are long, so fill your room with fun stuff to do!
• Play games with your room. (Truth or Dare is one of my favorites)

How To Know What To Charge

1. Add up all your monthly expenses (bills, food, rent, etc…), then double that number. That’s a good monthly earnings goal to start. You can always aim for more 😉   
2. Divide that by the number of days you’re going to cam. Now you have your daily goal.
3. Break this number in two, three, or four smaller show goals. Whatever feels right to you.

Use tipping games like Roll-the-dice for flashes to keep your text box free for show descriptions. 

• 10 tokens is a pretty standard price per roll
• 5 tokens is often used to get viewers really active in the game. 

TIP!

The dollar-shaped icon indicates viewers in your room who have tokens available in their CAM4 account. 

If the user is a gold member or is a member of your FanClub this icon will not be present next to his username (even if the user has tokens).

**Once you have chosen your tip or flash goal, don’t change it. Changing your goals all the time tells fans that you are not confident in your show – and that will make them feel the same way.
