Save Your Shows With A Superhero Costume

Putting on a great show is about having fun with confidence – and what better way to feel sexy and powerful than to dress up as a superhero?

Tips For Putting On A Super Show

Create a costume

Every superhero needs a costume (except maybe Thor – he’s hot enough as is). Your costume says a lot about you and what kind of hero you are, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be super sexy!

Here are a few tips for making a costume you’ll keep saving cam shows with:

  • Use leggings or tights for your legs, or even your upper body by putting your arms through the legs and cutting out the crotch for your head.
  • Add a bandana to your head, arms or legs as an accent.
  • Make a cape from either a blanket, pillow case or old fabric you have around the house.
  • Add a futuristic look to your character by wrapping parts of your body with LED cord lights, plastic tubing, old wires or cords you are not using (make sure they are not wrapped around your neck for safety).
  • Use cardboard to build a bodysuit or headpiece.
  • Glue old lightbulbs to your costume.
  • Use an old Halloween mask or make one out of fabric or cardboard.

PRO TIP: Halloween is a great time to stock up on cheap costume times that you can use all through the year.

Backstory

It is always fun to have a story about your characters on cam – having a backstory will help you get into the character easier… and your fans will love to hear and add to the story!

Here are some tips to help you create your super backstory:

  • Have a fun sexy name. Captain Spank, The Amazing Vibro-Girl.
  • Create super powers for your character. A dildo that makes enemies tell the truth. A vibrator made of adamantium. Super-boobs!
  • Create a cute story about how you came to be. You were radiated by a gamma-powered webcam!
  • Have a tip amount that activates one of your superpowers. If you are a robot 10 tokens will make you show off your robot dance moves.
  • Dress up one of your toys as your side kick for the show.
  • Give your toys or room a name that is on theme with your character.
  • Doing a couple show? Turn your partner a fun sidekick or villain to really kick the story into high gear. “I’ve caught the dastardly evil CFNM-Man. What should I do with him?”

CAM4 And Your Taxes

It is important to remember that earning money on CAM4 does not mean you are a CAM4 employee, and you are responsible for taking care of your own taxes – here’s a few tips to make sure you know what to do when tax time comes.

How Are You Categorized

As a performer, you are a business unto yourself – this is known as a sole proprietorship. This means that you are responsible for filing your own taxes according to the laws of your country.

Tax laws differ from country to country, but you are considered ‘self-employed’ or an ‘independent contractor’ no matter where you are.

It is important to keep track of how much money you cash out from  in a year, so that you aren’t surprised by the amount you owe at tax time!

How To File Your Taxes

To file your earnings from performing on cam you can use an online tax software compatible with your country (such as TurboTax in the US). These types of software make it very easy to follow the steps and get your taxes completed quickly and cheaply.

If you’re worried about filing on your own, you can also go to an accountant to have them filed for you.

What You Need When Filing

When you’re getting ready to file your taxes (at an accountant, or by yourself with software) you need to organize a few things:

A Record Of Your Earnings

Keep a record of all the money you’ve earned from CAM4 in the past year.

Note: This does not mean all the tokens you’ve been tipped, only the total amount of money you’ve cashed out from CAM4.

Receipts!

As a small business, you may wish to claim certain things that helped your business as tax write-offs!

Keep the receipts for your internet bill, toys you use on cam, clothes & makeup that help your shows – even a portion of your rent as an ‘office’!

Make sure to do some research on what you are able to write off in your country.

What’s The Difference Between Gifts, Tips and Tokens?

Learn how Gifts, Tips and Tokens each work differently to accomplish the same thing – earning you money!

Tokens

UntitledUntitledUntitled

What Are Tokens?

Tokens are the currency used on CAM4. Your viewers may tip you tokens while you’re on cam.  You can cash out the tokens you earn in your Broadcaster Dashboard for your local currency.

10 Tokens = $1 USD.

Viewers often tip to make requests, help reach a goal you’ve set, or show appreciation for your awesome broadcast! Viewers can also use tokens to buy CAM4 Gifts, play Interactive Games or pay for your Private and Group shows.

Gifts

What Are Gifts?

CAM4 Gifts are virtual presents designed by CAM4 that hold a specific token value. Anyone on CAM4 has the ability to send or receive a gift, but your account has to be approved to cash out the tokens attached – the tokens will be sent to your Broadcaster Dashboard total as soon as someone sends you a gift.

What Happens When You Receive A Gift?

You will see your gift (and who sent it) on the Display Case on your profile for 30 days. (Holiday and CAM4’s birthday gifts do not expire)

When you receive a gift, a notification is sent to your CAM4 inbox. This notification message will start a mail thread between you and the sender so you can write them back to say thank you!

You will also get an email letting you know that you received a new gift if you have opted-in to email notifications from CAM4.  You can turn on or change your notifications in your account settings.

How To See Your Gifts In Broadcaster Dashboard

You can get a report of the tokens you’ve received from gifts in your ‘Tip History’ within your Broadcaster Dashboard.

Tips

What is a tip?

A tip is sent to a broadcaster during their broadcast in the form of tokens in an amount determined by the sender. Tips are a way for viewers to show appreciation, or to pay for a show or request.

What Happens When You Receive A Tip?

Once someone has sent you a tip:

  • You will see a white bar appear over your broadcast window that will display the number of tokens, and who sent it.

  • You will hear a ‘Beep, Beep, Beep’ sound (unless you turn it off by pressing the music note at the top right of your broadcast window)
  • The tip amount will be added to your tip bar, as you get closer to your goal, your tip bar becomes more of a rainbow.

  • The tip amount will also be added to ‘Your Earnings’ that is located under your tip bar. This will show your total tokens earned for that broadcast.

How To See Your Tips In The Broadcaster Dashboard

You can see your tips in your ‘Tip History” which will give you a breakdown of all your tips by year, month, and day.

How To Best Use Group, Private and Password Shows

CAM4 offers a wide variety of show options to give you complete creative control over the type of show you want to offer your fans – read on for tips on how to best use each of the options available.

Private Shows

This is a full 1 on 1 experience where fans get you all to themselves, perfect for living out either of your fantasies. I recommend doing private shows either before or after your public show – this way you can give the viewer in your private show your full attention, without upsetting fans who were tipping to reach your public show goal. No one likes to be left hanging bb.

Private Show Tips

  • When you are accepting private shows, change the scenery by either moving to a different room, turning on different coloured lights or simply changing your cam angle. This will let your fans know it is private time and may entice more fans to take you private.
  • Have specific costumes, toys, and roll play scenarios that you do only when in a private show with your fans. Sexy show exclusives will heighten the excitement and pleasure for both of you.
  • Cam2Cam is a private show exclusive feature where you get to see and hear your fan in real time. This makes it so much easier for the both of you to communicate your desires during your show. (Don’t worry, spies are not able to hear anything in a private show and they can only see the performer)
  • If your fan wants to get more personal in the private show, call them by a name they choose. You can even record the show and send it as a gift by uploading the video to your Google Drive and sending the URL link in a private message. Even better, send the video as a surprise 😉

 Group Shows

Group Shows are special show that requires a number of viewers to purchase tickets (for tokens). These are great for hosting groups of fans that want to see you pleasing yourself and others without having a huge crowd around.

Group Show Tips

This is also a great option if you have a few very loyal fans in your room and you want to offer them a more intimate show.

  • If you are a couple and offer this fantasy, you can have your partner watch in the background of the cam while you please the fans who are in your group.
  • If you have slaves, you can tell them to get tickets –so they have to watch you get  pleasure from other fans while they can only watch and tip.
  • If you enjoy the fantasy of being watched by multiple people while you are doing a show, tell your fans that this turns you on and create a group show. To really heighten this fantasy, tell the fans in your group show to say or do certain things while you are performing, they will absolutely love to be a part of your fantasy.
  • If you have a gangbang or multiple partner fantasy, tell your fans how much you want them to have their way with you. You then have the option of letting them take control of dirty talk, etc… or telling them how you want them to act towards you while the group show is taking place.

Password Protected Shows

All approved CAM4 broadcasters can start a password protected show. You can charge whatever you like and use password protected shows in such a huge variety of ways.

Password Show Tips

  • Fan Club broadcasters can use their exclusive galleries to post a time, date, and password to inform subscribers of an exclusive fan club show.
  • If you are a fetish broadcaster, you can have a list of role play and fetish shows that you will only do in a password protected room
  • If you are concerned about showing your face on cam, a password show is perfect because no one can spy on you if you do decide to show your face.
  • Create set token amounts that fans can tip to have true private time with you in a password protected room. For example, instead of leaving the site to do a show on a 3rd party service, you can offer fans the same amount of time you would spend there for a set token cost.
  • Password protected shows are a lot safer than using 3rd party sites like Skype – mainly because you’re not sharing any personal information and still have the protection of CAM4 support team! With our Cam2cam feature you ther is no need to ever go off site to engae with your fans.

Exposing Yourself On Social Media

Social media is a powerful marketing tool that gives you the tools you need to get more viewers (and turn those viewers into loyal fans).

Good Social Media Practices

Constant Content!

The more you post, the more people see you. Don’t limit yourself to just words! Post pictures and videos if you really want to grab attention.

A Strong Bio

Write a profile that lets people know who you are and what you are about. I know it can be weird writing about yourself, but it makes a big difference.

PRO TIP: When writing about yourself think about your favorite celebrity and ask yourself “What would I want to know about them?”

Start Linking Yourself

Let people know where they can find you. Include your CAM4 URL in every bio and put it in every possible tweet. This makes it easy for viewers to join your room, all they have to do is click on the link!

Eg. cam4.com/cam4coach_en

#Hashtag

Whenever possible, use hashtags (#) on ALL your social media platforms (not just Twitter). Make sure you use the same hashtags on all of your profiles – this connects all your profiles together and makes them easier to search. Use relevant hashtags that have to do with your personality and show.

You should start your own hashtag as well – when you click on a hashtagged word on any social media platform, a list of every post containing that hashtag is pulled up. This will let you see who is using your hashtag and what they are saying. The more its used, the easier it is to find in a search – so use it often!  #CAM4    #livetouch    #hashtagsareawesome!

Promote Your Mentions!

Retweet or Reblog almost everything that is said about you on social media. If you have a blog, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, Twitter, or a Facebook fanpage you need to make sure to share all your profiles on each – you want people to be following you everywhere possible.

When you see you have a new follower, send them a message saying thank you and ask them if they could go through your pics and like the ones that are their favorite. You can get a program that will do this for you to save you work.

Personal Info Security (Video)

We know that it can be stressful using your personal information on any site, so we sat down with the CAM4 Customer Service pros to ask some questions about how secure the site really is.

CAM4 Coach: Hello! Thank you for taking the time to answer all my security questions.  The first thing I want to ask why performers need to upload their ID to the Performer Dashboard?

Customer Service: We have an obligation to make sure anyone we will be paying is of legal age to be on the site. We also use the Model Release and ID check in the case of cams with multiple people, to make sure that everyone is aware they are part of the broadcast.

CAM4 Coach: Makes sense! What do you do with the ID once it is uploaded?

Customer Service: Your ID is reviewed by a member of our approval team. Once it’s approved, a copy is kept offline by our Keeper of Records and the digital copy is deleted.

CAM4 Coach: If someone did a google search on my real name would CAM4 come up?

Customer Service: CAM4 would only appear on searches of your real name if you personally associated the two in some way. For example, if you used your real name as your username, or published an email address/Facebook/Twitter/Skype account that is connected to your real name.

Anything you type on your own public profile or on the comment wall of other profiles can be indexed by the search engines. (You can find advice on keeping your privacy here.)

CAM4 Coach: Can my account be “hacked”?

Customer Service: Technically anything is possible… but it is HIGHLY unlikely that this will occur. The bigger risk is social engineering – where you pass your account information to someone else without realizing it.

Typically this would be achieved by someone claiming to work for CAM4 giving you a link (in Skype or another 3rd party service) to a page that looks like a CAM4 page with a login box – as soon as you “log in” they get your information.

Alternatively, someone may send you a file in Skype that is supposed to be an image, but is in reality a key-logger that lets them see whatever you type.

CAM4 Coach: What can I do to keep my account safe from people like that?

Customer Service: Make sure you keep your account information to yourself, be cautious when accepting files from anyone, and do not accept people in Skype claiming to work for CAM4. We will not approach you in this way, ever.

If you receive anything claiming to be from CAM4 asking for your account information please contact support@cam4.com – we can verify it for you or let you know that it’s fake.

CAM4 Coach: So the best advice is to keep your camming on CAM4 and never give out your password! Speaking of giving out information, does CAM4 share any of my personal information with 3rd parties?

Customer Service: No. We never share any of your personal info.

CAM4 Coach: One more question, how effective is a country block?

Customer Service: A country block will block people within that country – however, it will not block users of that nationality residing in another country, or using a proxy/VPN to give them a different location. As a whole, though, it will block the vast majority of that country’s users.

CAM4 Coach: Thanks so much for the interview! This has been very helpful.

Customer Service: No problem. Stay safe!

Fraud Awareness (Video)

There is no way to tell if someone tipping is fraudulent but there are things you can look for to protect yourself that will help keep it to a minimum and also benefit your fellow performers.

New Members

You can see when someone became a member of CAM4 by checking their profile. Brand new users tipping large amounts may be an indicator of fraud.

Please keep in mind that not all new members are fraudulent. Someone with a longer history at CAM4 does tend to be safer but there is always a possibility of a member contacting their bank and stating they did not make the purchases (chargeback).

Tipping Behavior

There are things you can look for during your show that should be a red flag as possible fraud. Here are a few:

  • If you are chatting while clothed (not performing) and someone tips you – especially large amounts and they are not a regular.
  • Someone tipping you more than requested.
  • Someone tips without chatting or making a request – especially if “requests” is one of your goals.
  • Someone tips and then immediately leaves the room.

Most tippers, especially new ones, will tip in small numbers to see if a performer will follow through with goals or requests.

Rule of thumb: someone spending money wildly may not be spending their own.

Track Your Fraud

If you have repeat fraud from a particular country it may be time to add that country to your block list.

What Do I Do If I Suspect Fraud?
If at any time you feel someone is fraudulent and wish to refuse their tip, please notify us at tipping@cam4.com and we will take care of that for you.

Please keep in mind that all tokens tipped are purchased through one of our processors. Voids are tokens that were purchased with a stolen credit card or the tipper contacted their bank stating they did not make the purchase.

There is no such thing as ‘fake tokens’.
Token adders are .exe files that are designed to steal your log-in and compromise your account and should never be clicked on. If you find a link to a token adder please report it to us at: technical@cam4.com so we can have it removed.

How To Set Up Your Room (Video)

Whether you are brand new, or an experienced performer, setting up a new space can be a little tricky – unless you follow these great tips to getting set up!

Bed Pic One 2

Locate All Light Sources

You want to control the light no matter where you are performing. Start by:

  • Covering all windows. The sun is not a suitable source of light because it is inconsistent and can give away your location.
  • See what light fixtures are already in the room and how much light they give off.

Once you know how much light you have to work with you need to:

  • Compact fluorescent bulbs should be used (daylight color / 5500 kelvin or 5000-6500 Kelvin)or (Soft white bulbs are 2700 – 3000 kelvin and that is on the warmer side)
  • Get a few clamp lamps to add light where needed

For full info on how to set up your lights check out the article “Lighting 101”

 Choose A Flattering Angle

When choosing which direction to point your webcam, keep in mind that we are a visual site and the more you have in your background the better.

Here are a few tips for picking a flattering angle:

  • If you have a “good side” you are more comfortable facing the cam with take that into account. You always want to be comfortable, so make sure you don’t have to position your body in an awkward pose to get the effect you want.
  • To make the most of a space, have the camera angled towards a corner of the room with your webcam in the opposite corner. This will give you the most space to work with and incorporate more wall space you can use for decorating or game boards.
  • Position your webcam so it is above you angling down, this is very flattering on all body types.
  • If you want to look taller place your webcam below you angled so it is pointing up at you, this is also a great angle for sexy walking, dancing, and the giantess fetish.

Bed Pic 3

 Set Your Stage

This is the best part of setting up your room. The longer you are in a space, the more comfortable you get and the more you will decorate. Your room doesn’t have to be perfect, but it has to be a place you will want to hang out in for hours.

Beautiful additions to any room:

Curtains 2

Curtains are the perfect room accessory if you can’t paint, or if you need to hide things like closet doors (which I did here).

To create this affect I used a basic curtain rod and attached it to the wall the same way you would hang any curtains. I then sewed fabric loops onto my favorite fabric and hung them.

A large mirror is fantastic for selfies and to reflect the back of you to your viewers so they catch you from every angle. To make this extra flattering, prop your mirror on your wall at a bit of an angle. This will make your body look longer while laying down and taller when standing. Having it by your bed is also a plus because you will have so many bed selfies!

Use colored lights, pillows, posters, games, toys, musical instruments, etc. to dress up your space. Remember, the whole point of adding these things is so you don’t get bored, if you love your surroundings and have lots to interact with, the more fun it is to watch you.

Time Management Is Money

If you’ve ever thought to yourself “How come that person is more successful than me when I feel like I do so much work?” you may benefit from learning how to more successfully manage your time on and off cam.

Understanding Time Management

The first step is understanding that ‘clock time’ and ‘real time’ are not the same thing. Although we measure our lives with clock time, it has little to do with our success… Real time, on the other hand, is relative and is made up of our thoughts, conversations and actions. How we manage these thoughts, conversations, and actions is what determines how productive and successful we are in life.

Without going into great detail, write down all your thoughts, conversations and actions for 1 week to see how your time is spent. This will show you how your time is spent both on and off cam.

Once the week is done, take a look at your list and determine which thoughts, conversations, and actions produced positive results, which produced negative results, and which wasted your time.

Knowing where and how your time is spent will drastically help you focus on things that get you the results you want. You will have a clearer picture of where your success is coming from while doing everything – including filming videos, taking pictures, engaging in social media, getting ready to perform, and even broadcasting your shows!

How To Apply This To Your Performances

Step One: Set a schedule for yourself and stick to it.

Once you get into a rhythm, you will find you have more time to get things done outside of your shows – like videos, pictures, social media, and much needed personal time. You will also see that having a regular schedule will make it easier for you to fill up your room with fans (because they know when to find you).

 Step Two: Stay positive!

Before you go on cam, take 5-10 min to envision your show. What is the positive outcome you want? How you are going to achieve it? Time management + positive frame of mind = results.

Step Three: Keep your show focused

While on cam, use your time effectively by staying in your public show until you have finished. Only accept Private Show requests after or before your public show. Keeping this separate will increase results for both – running around is not effective and you could lose fans and money as a result.

Step Four: Learn to say “please wait” to your fans.

Your fans will learn your schedule and greatly appreciate the structure in your room. Fans of your public show will tip more because you are not going back and forth to private all the time, while private show fans will appreciate you being ready and prepared to give them a great show.

So… You’ve Been Recorded. (Video)

Broadcasting yourself online – on CAM4 or 3rd party services like Skype – carries the risk of being recorded, but there are many things you can do to lower your risk or take action once you’ve been recorded.

Lowering Your Risk Of Being Recorded

Using programs like Many-cams or broadcasting using OBS will allow you to watermark your broadcast and that will give you more control of your image – most adult content sites care about your privacy and will not allow watermarked videos/images to be uploaded.

To further protect your privacy, CAM4 allows performers to hide their face – or even wear a mask – while broadcasting.

What To Do If You Find A Recording Of Yourself

If your videos/images are uploaded to a download site (such as 4shared or Megaupload) your best bet is to contact them first to request the removal.  Have the URL links to your uploaded video(s) ready. Upload sites are more apt to respond quickly as this violates their policy.

If other types of websites posting your content you can contact the administrators  by using their Copyright Violation/DMCA link – this will typically be located at the bottom of the page. If you cannot find one, use their Abuse or Contact info provided.

If you are unable to find contact information on the website, you can go to netsol.com and do a WHOIS search. In some cases you may be able to find the company that hosts the website and inform them of the violation of the company’s terms of service.

You may have to contact certain sites a few times before your successful, but these are the steps you need to take to get your videos/images removed from a website.
